TaylorTailor on Put This On
I would like to thank the guys over at Put This On for featuring my jeans on their blog. I am a huge fan of what they do, and am honored that they took an interest in my latest project. As a long time reader I was ecstatic (literally jumping around the room) when I saw the above image on the Put This On home page. Their posts as well as their videos are very informative and entertaining, and I highly recommend checking out their site if you haven’t already.
This post contains affiliate links which means I will make a small commission if you purchase through those links. I only recommend products that I know, trust and love!
I’d also like to thank Put This On for sending me over to your blog. I’ve had an inkling to do this same sort of thing, and hopefully as my schedule opens up this summer I’ll have the time.
I think it would be interesting to see the economics of this all. I know that saving money probably isn’t a motivator to make your own clothes – and I can think of lots of other reasons to do it. But I’d be interested in knowing what costs have been involved for you – both in terms of time and money.
I’m looking forward to seeing more.
Nate,
You are right, saving money is not really a motivator here. You might be able to save a little money if you are willing to compromise on which materials you use. There is a huge time investment if you factor how long it takes to draft patterns, make test versions, and then make the final garment. I enjoy that lengthy process, which is probably the biggest motivator for me.
